Car-free Cotswolds - Cotswolds Tourism

Car-free Cotswolds - Cotswolds Tourism

The Brief:

Attract tourists to the Cotswolds AONB, but to do so with responsible tourism in mind. Encourage visitors to use public transport, rather than private vehicles, while reducing their carbon footprint.

The Challenge:

The Cotswolds are on the doorstep of millions, and driving to them is easy. But what impact is private travel having on the carbon footprint of the wider region? Cotswolds Tourism came to us with a challenge: make a film that not only encourages car-free travel, but one that feels fun and easy, too. We collaborated with UNESCO World Heritage Site Blenheim Palace, award-winning pubs and Great Western Railway to bring this ambitious campaign to life.

The Results:

Travelling Across the Cotswolds Sustainably, was a presenter-led, documentary-style travel film, leaning on the industry experience of hotel and restaurant critic Simon Parker. It was shortlisted for several high-profile travel media awards, and was shared widely with collaborators such as Great Western Trains.
