TreeDwellers

TreeDwellers

The Brief:

Showcase some of the Cotswolds’ most exciting new ‘hotels’ on a sustainable road trip through the Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Notably, TreeDwellers, is a series of architecturally eccentric treehouses, surrounded by the Wychwood Forest, just outside the Oxfordshire village of Charlbury.

The Challenge:

Trees are a curse to even the most experienced of drone pilots, but in order to capture that essential “sense of place” – visually stunning treehouses, surrounded by forest – those shots were essential. However, we confess to actually destroying a drone on this shoot when it clipped a branch and fell to the forest floor. Not a problem, we returned a couple of days later with our backup drone to grab all the aerial drone photography this project needed.

The Results:

A short film about one of the Cotswolds’ newest and most exciting places to stay. We wanted to create a powerful video that felt more like Grand Designs than a boring marketing campaign. Because TreeDwellers is exciting and exceptional. We interviewed its founder and CEO, Tim Rees, to better understand this charming location, his ambitious vision and how he hoped it would make his guests feel when they visit.
