Lord Crewe Arms

Lord Crewe Arms

The Brief:

Distil the essence of a 12th Century priory-cum-luxury hotel, surrounded by the epic landscapes of Northumberland. The Calcot Collection asked us to create a hero film that depicted the Lord Crewe Arms as a cosy place for drinks, amazing food and a friendly welcome, and also illustrate its unique location at the heart of a stunning village, Blanchland.

The Challenge:

The Lord Crewe is an almost thousand year-old property, not built with modern filmmakers in mind. We therefore had to light most of our internal scenes and, in late summer, use external twilight to our advantage. Our extensive experience in location filming for hotel brands meant we could lean on the successes of past projects. We wanted to capture glowing fires and cosy dinners, while also getting out into the wilds of the surrounding moorlands; a big attraction for guests booking a stay.

The Results:

Following a busy three day production on location, we worked with the Lord Crewe marketing team through several drafts of their final hero film, which will sit front and centre in their new website. We also delivered a selection of vertical edits, for their online social media marketing plans.
