The Brief:

Completely rebrand this 18th Century hotel’s video content in a way that captures a sense of place within the wider village and the Cotswolds AONB. The Calcot Collection also wanted to create a uniformity across their entire hotel group and establish The Painswick as both a cosy bolthole for food, wine and cocktails, but also a stepping stone for adventures into the wider region.

The Challenge:

Create video content that rivals some of The Painswick’s biggest competitors, both locally and nationally. Sometimes, however, you can be blessed with too much great stuff to shoot, and in the case of The Paiswick we were faced with a property bursting with charm. That’s when our background in travel journalism came in; in the final edit we were able to work with The Painswick’s Marketing team to distill the true essence of this luxury Cotswolds hotel.

When is the right time to cut? What sort of light and energy do we want to convey? And what does that say about the hotel we’re shooting? We worked on several versions of the edit, so that the final film was perfectly aligned to the wider marketing goals and ambitions across the entire hotel group. So much so, they commissioned us to create films about the whole collection.
